Best Weapons in Resident Evil 4 Remake

1 year ago 194

There’s no world where anyone would go up against hordes of zombies without a powerful weapon, especially when you’ve got tons of time to prepare. Resident Evil is a survival horror franchise not curated for the faint of heart. It demands resilience, skill, and know-how of the best weapons to arrive safely at the shore. Resident Evil understands this, so they dish out more than enough weapons, so much so that it’s difficult to keep track of all of them.

With Resident Evil 4 Remake, they added weapon upgrades such that the weapons you may have relied on in the original may not serve you the same way. Having tried and tested all the weapons in Resident Evil 4 Remake in the direst situations, we’ve compiled the best weapons in Resident Evil 4 Remake you’ll want to have by your side.

5. Chicago Sweeper (Submachine Gun)

Best Weapons in Resident Evil 4 Remake

The Chicago Sweeper, also known as the Chicago Typewriter in the original, is a deadly machine with a high magazine capacity and damage output. Plus, if you grind a little more, you can access an infinite ammo version of it. With a high rate of fire and damage output, taking down enemies and bosses is much easier.

Some players will call the Chicago Sweeper the “Tommy gun” because of how alike they are. In fact, it’s a representation of the real-world Thompson SMG, so that most people may spot it easily thanks to its over-the-top ammo drum and use in most films, video games, and other media forms.

How to Get the Chicago Sweeper

Well, you first complete the main story. Then, unlock professional mode and grind to get an A rank or higher. From here on, you’ll be free to buy it at the Extra Content Shop for 1000 Challenge Points. Although it seems like a pretty steep challenge, tagged the “Leon A. Kennedy” challenge, getting the Chicago Sweeper in the seven hours or less playthrough does prove worthwhile.

4. Killer7 (Magnum)

Magnums aren’t always the safest bet. However, the Killer7 magnum is a powerful weapon in Resident Evil 4 remake you might want to consider. That’s because it has a high penetration power that easily takes down enemies in one-shot kills. The magnum’s firepower starts at 25, then increases to 35, which is just about as much firepower as is needed to take down any boss.

Additionally, Killer7 has a laser light mounted on top of the magnum, which allows for better vision and line of sight in battle. Combined, the Killer7 perks outweigh even those of the classic Broken Butterfly weapon. So, if at all you had the Broken Butterfly in your inventory, you’ll want to ditch that and get the Killer7 magnum instead. Just be sure to save it for the boss fights because, even though it’s slow-firing, you only need a few shots to take out the toughest enemies and bosses, thus saving time and ammo.

How to Get the Killer7 (Magnum)

The Killer7 magnum is unlocked in Chapter 13 as soon as you finish mowing down enemies in the castle and getting a boat ride to the Wharf. Then, you’ll be free to buy it at the Merchant’s Shop for 77,700 Pesetas.

3. Stingray (Rifle)

Rifles never go out of style, so finding the best rifle is important. Comparatively, the Stingray outdoes the rest, thanks to its large magazine and higher stats than other rifles in the game. You can bet your life on the Stingray rifle, which fires accurate, precise shots at safe distances.

Each shot counts, unleashing rapid fire and dealing high damage on enemies—3x more than other weapons. It’s consistent and can easily hold its own for longer, thanks to a higher rate of fire than the usual bolt-action rifle go-to.

How to Get the Stingray (Rifle)

So, if you’re anticipating hordes of enemies, and the likelihood of getting swarmed in a short time, make sure to ditch any rifles you have and get the Stingray in Chapter 7 at the Merchant’s Shop for 30,000 Pesetas.

2. W-870 (Shotgun)

Best Weapons in Resident Evil 4 Remake

Getting a reliable weapon early in the game comes in handy much later. It helps to get used to handling it for more dire situations, as well as fetching upgrades in preparation for the battle ahead.

If you’re just getting started, the W-870 shotgun is a strong weapon you should check out. It’s particularly great for close-range combat and taking down the toughest enemies from up close. You can also use it to break free from the grasp of swarms of enemies that try to pin you down.

How to Get the W-870 (Shotgun)

To get the W-870 shotgun, you’ll need to access it from Chapter 1 in the defendable house in the Northeast Village Square. You should see it upstairs, hanging on a wall. Don’t worry if you miss it; you can always return to the chapter to retrieve it after the story ends.

1. Red9 (Handgun)

Best Weapons in Resident Evil 4 Remake

If you’re looking for a snappy weapon, check out the Red9 handgun. This handgun is unlike any other, packing great damage over an impressively long range. You may find it a little harder to control. However, a Stock upgrade should do the trick to improve its accuracy and keep the gun steady. Thereafter, its insane amount of firepower will be fully at your disposal.

As much as the Red 9 is a great weapon of choice, make sure to be completely certain it fits your playstyle because you won’t be able to ditch the gun once it’s in your inventory. You’ll be stuck together with red tape.

How to Get the Red9 (Handgun)

Feel free to get the Red9 handgun in Chapter 4 at the abandoned boat in the lake. This should come after you kill Del Lago and drive the boat to the ship in the lake’s center. You should find a chest at the front of the ship with the Red9 inside.
