7 Pro Players That Will Rule VCT 2023

VCT 2023 season is right around the corner with the first event of the year, VCT LOCK//IN starting on February 13th. To gear up for the season, here are our top player picks to be the MVP of this year’s Valorant Champions Tour.

We tried to cover as many regions as we could so that wherever you are from, there is a player you can follow. There are many more talented players out there and if the king of VCT 2023 isn’t listed here… something really interesting must have happened.

PRX f0rsakeN

Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto is a former CS:GO player who now plays Valorant for Paper Rex, the best APAC team in Valorant. He is arguably one of the best Indonesian players and was a beast in the last VCT season.

Some may say, f0rsaken and Jungg come in a bundle. Both players are known for good chemistry and playing off of each other.

Take the composition at Masters Reykjavík for example, both played duelists with f0rskeN locking an unusual agent – Yoru. Since the opponents don’t know how to play against him, more effort was required to deny f0rsaken space, opening up a window for Jinggg on Raze to shine.

100T bang

For some quality NA gameplay we are looking at 100T Sean “bang” Bezerra. You may not have heard his name much if you are outside of NA, but bang’s crisp mechanics and movement are one of the best in the scene and he consistently frags while playing mostly controllers.

And although 100 Thieves had a rocky trip through VCT so far, in 2023, if they do rise above the rest, it will be bang to lead them there.

SEN zekken

Zachary “zekken” Patrone is a new addition to Sentinels. He previously played for XSET and did very well, winning matches that were predetermined. But now with the new Sentinels roster, zekken says that the fans should be excited and Sentinels will start winning sooner than later.

The Sentinels roster does look promising with players like TenZ and pANcada to play along zekken. And who knows, maybe one of them will make their name known to the whole world.

In the opposite corner of the ring is the Fnatic who are ready for revenge against Sentinels (for context: this piece is written right before the start of the VCT LOCK//IN event in which the first game for Fnatic will be against Sentinels.

For this season, Fnatic has two new players: Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov and Leo “Leo” Jannesson. During his time at Guild Esports, Leo established himself as an incredible initiator (One Esports) and by the words of Derke brings more structure to the team (Yinsu).

Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin is someone who made his name known across the EMEA region while playing for Gambit Esports.

During VCT Masters: Berlin, Gambit won the first ever 13-0 game in Valorant history. And while the whole team worked hard, the one player who stood out, was nAts (Team Liquid).

He was away for a while, but after Team Liquid picked him and Igor “Redgar” Vlasov up, both players will be making a comeback in 2023 and have the potential to be some of the best players of the season.

LOUD Aspas

The region we barely touched on today is Brazil. And from there we have some strong competition in the name of Erick “aspas” Santos.

LOUD had an incredible season in 2022 and is coming back strong. Aspas proved himself to be the best duelist on the international stage and even had higher numbers than yay’s. Although the stage was mostly yay’s during 2022, we eagerly await what aspas has in store for 2023.

NAVI suygetsu

Last, but certainly not least on our list is Dmitry “SUYGETSU” Ilyushin, currently playing for Natus Vincere. While many eyes lay down on Pontus “Zyppan” Eek with his entry-fragging potential, we are confident that suygetsu will make a name for himself after a great performance on FPX.

He made his name during the VCT Masters Copenhagen Grand Final where he was declared as a match MVP. But his plays go far and beyond the Grand Final. Throughout the season he has proved to be one of the most methodical and controlled players in EMEA, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us.
