Lords of the Fallen 2 Delay

Lords of the Fallen 2 will no longer launch this autumn / fall. Instead, it'll target the first quarter of 2027.

All told, this delay did seem likely, since the action RPG was yet to receive a confirmed release date.

Of course, this means that it avoids the ridiculously stacked fall schedule; both September and October are fit to burst with games as every publisher on the planet attempts to avoid the impact of GTA 6 in November.

That said, the early months of 2027 are looking pretty damn busy as well — but I think Lords of the Fallen 2's got enough hype behind it for it to stand its ground.

Indeed, the game appears to be a noticeable improvement over its predecessor, which in itself ended up being a rock solid Souls-like following a number of substantial updates.

But the delay isn't down to the aforementioned schedule alone.

According to publisher CI Games, it's primarily about improving the game: "As development progresses, we have worked closely with the Gameplay Feedback Team, a dedicated group of seasoned Souls-like veterans within our Launch Creative Team."

"Their valuable ongoing input, combined with the team’s vision, has identified meaningful opportunities to further refine and strengthen the overall experience."

The studio continues: "This updated release window also strategically positions Lords of the Fallen 2 outside of a highly competitive holiday period, ensuring the game receives the dedicated attention it deserves."

Were you banking on playing Lords of the Fallen this fall? Fortunately, there are plenty more games to choose from — so tell me what you're buying in the comments section below.
