Path of Exile 2 server status
The Path of Exile 2 servers are now online. While technical issues saw it go live later than its scheduled time of Friday, December 6 at 11am PT / 7pm GMT, players can now access the game.
While the servers are now up, at the time of writing (December 6 at 2:20pm PT / 10:20pm GMT) players are still experiencing some long waits in a server queue. With all the technical issues suffered on launch day, developer Grinding Gear is being cautious not to let too many players in at once.
“For those still in queue, what we are doing right now is letting in players in batches so that we can make sure to monitor the backend and not overload it. Thanks once again for your patience and hopefully it won’t be too much longer,” it says.
Server issues seemed inevitable for Path of Exile 2’s launch. The devs even posted a short video on how large the pre-launch numbers are and warned that because of the huge influx of players, there will likely be queues at launch. That’s turned out to be true, with over 150,000 waiting patiently (or impatiently, probably) on Steam alone at the time it was meant to have gone live. Now that the servers are kicking into gear, a remarkable 450,000 are piling in on Steam alone on launch day and perfecting their best Path of Exile 2 builds.
