How to trigger Recursive Destruction in Marvel Rivals

3 hours ago 15

With the new season and events happening in Marvel Rivals, there came a new challenge where you need to trigger “Recursive Destruction” three times in the new map.

What in the world is this, and how do you do it? We have the answers below.

How to trigger Recursive Destruction in Marvel Rivals

To trigger Recursive Destruction in Marvel Rivals, you need first to be playing on the new Empire of the Eternal Night: Midtown map. It’s a Convoy game mode where you need to push and escort the objective to the end. As a defender, you must prevent attackers from getting that far.

During any phase, use your Chrono Vision. It tells you what things are destructible in the playing field’s environment. You’ll typically see yellow items being destructible, but for the “Recursive Destruction” aspect, they’ll be red instead.

You need to destroy a piece of these to trigger a different kind of destruction. Typically, the yellow-labeled areas fall apart and eventually return after some time. The red-labeled ones will instead be destroyed and turned into a different environment altogether.

For example, this fallen Hulkbuster in the image above can be “destroyed.” Destroying it then completely removes it and all the rubble, turning it into a reconstructed Metro Station structure.

There are other instances like this, depending on how far you have traveled on this map.

How to cheese Recursive Destruction

Go into Quickplay and pick a character that can do a bunch of environmental damage. Characters like The Punisher, Hulk, Iron Man, or other tank and DPS characters with impact-based damage can trigger these easily.

It’s not recommended to allocate all your time to destroy these things on your map as it can annoy your teammates and potentially cost you a game, but if you can sneak in a few shots here and there to trigger these, do it.

There have been instances where I played matches on this map where this was triggered, but not by my hands (even though I was shooting at it). Other times, it was counted, but it’s hard to tell with the hectic nature of the game, with ults and all kinds of random projectiles hitting objects and destructible environments.

You can also go into the limited-time Quick Match mode where you’ll only play in the new Midtown map. This does not count if you’re playing in the Doom Match mode since it doesn’t take place in the exact area. It’ll be easier and more consistent if you’re trying to complete this as soon as possible.

Luckily, we have just under a month to complete this for the Midnight Features event, so there’s time.
