Whether it’s the coloured crystals, the five buttons, or the door to the Heaven’s Rod in Fisch you’re looking for, we have the answer.

The summit of the Northern Expedition houses an altar that eventually opens the path to the Heaven’s Rod. You can only unlock this by solving a puzzle and spending around 2,000,000C$. Here’s how to complete the long (and expensive) scavenger hunt.

How to get the Heaven’s Rod in Fisch

To unlock the Heaven’s Rod, you need to place all four Energized Crystals at the altar at the summit of the Northern Expedition area.

Obtaining the very last one requires the previous three, a hunt for 5 buttons dotted around the old islands, and another 250,000C$ investment.

Nabbing the first of these Energy Crystals requires another item: the Pickaxe. Let’s get started.

How to get the Pickaxe

The Pickaxe location in Fisch.

You’ll find the Fisch Pickaxe at the far side of the third camp. It’s on top of a box by another oxygen upgrade.

That’s not the one after the camp’s base, nor the one after: it’s the one after that, where it’s your left when you can go left, straight on into a cave, and right to continue the climb.

All Heaven’s Rod coloured crystal locations

You can grab two of the coloured Energy Crystals in Fisch without much trouble. One requires the tight window of an Avalanche, and the final requires a tour of the old islands and a lofty 250,000C$.

Here’s how to get the Green, Blue, Yellow, and Red Energy Crystals needed to unlock the Heaven’s Rod in Fisch.

Where to get the Green Energy Crystal

The Green Energized Crystal in Fisch.

Right after grabbing the Pickaxe, you can head out of the camp and into the nearby cave to grab the Green Crystal.

Go inside and into the middle of the water. You should spot an NPC hiding on a ledge to your left. Speak to him to acquire the Green Crystal.

Where to get the Blue Energy Crystal

The Blue Energized Crystal in Fisch.

Glide back down to the first. Use the Pickaxe to break the ice by the NPC. Once the ice has fully vanished, you’ll be able to grab the Blue Crystal.

Where to get the Yellow Energy Crystal

The location of the Yellow Energy Crystal in Fisch.

You can find the Yellow Energized Crystal at GPS coordinates X 19503, Y 335 Z, 5548. It’s only visible during an Avalanche.

The easiest way to get here is to head back to the fork in the road that led to the pickaxe camp and the Green Crystal cave. Take the right path as if you’re continuing the climb the summit.

Just before you start to turn around the mountain and lose sight of the fork path, the area widens. There’s a fence here that opens up around platform-like rock. Stand on the rock and jump (or glide) onto the ledge far below.

The crystal spawns on the cliff during an avalanche. Grab an Avalanche Totem before dropping down and you won’t have to time the journey during the small window.

Where to get the Red Energy Crystal

The NPC selling the Red Crystal for the Heaven's Rod in Fisch.

You get buy the Red Crystal for 250,000C$ from the Hiker NPC to the right of the Heaven’s Rod altar at the top of the mountain after collecting the Yellow, Blue, and Green crystals and pressing the 5 buttons around the old islands.

Heaven’s Rod button locations

Here are the locations of the five buttons you’ll need to press to unlock the ability to buy the final Red Energy Crystal for the Heaven’s Rod:

Ancient Isle

The Heaven's Rod button on the Ancient Isle in Fisch.

On the approach, dock at the little island furthest from the Ancient Isle on your left. You’ll find a Pirate NPC here. The button is by the door to the under construction lighthouse.

Roslit Bay

The Heaven's Rod button location on Roslit in Fisch.

The button on Roslit Bay is just by the Angler and the NPC who buys Albino fish. Just head up from the main camp and you’ll see them on your left.

Moosewood

The Heaven's Rod button location in Moosewood on Fisch.

The moosewood button is on the back of the leftmost leaderboard just before the ramp up to the merchant area.

Snowcap

The Heaven's Rod button on Snowcap in Fisch.

The Snowcap button is at the opposite opening of the fence by the NPC who lost his rod. You’ll need to climb up by the merchant and continue straight to find him.

Forsaken Shores

The Heaven's Rod button location on the Forsaken Shores in Fisch.

The Forsaken Shores button is at the top of the pirate lookout closest to the dock.

With all that done, head back to the Northern Summit and speak to the NPC by the altar to get the Red Energy Crystal.

Place all four crystals into the slots around the altar and you’ll see a message at the bottom of the screen that reads “It looks like there was an earthquake. Something big must have opened, and it’s probably really close!”

This is the sign that the door to the Heaven’s Rod is open.

Where is the Heaven’s Rod door?

Finding the Heaven’s Rod door isn’t another lengthy puzzle. Like the notice says after placing the Energy Crystals, it’s really close.

To reach it, just head to the cliff behind where you put the Blue Crystal. Jump off and use the glider to reach the cave beneath the cliff.

Head inside and you’ll walk under the now-opened archway to the Heaven’s Rod chamber.

Interact with it and pony up 1,750,000C$ and the Heaven’s Rod is yours.

Is the Heaven’s Rod worth it?

The Heaven’s Rod is currently considered the best rod in the game by most. It’s a good upgrade if you’re rocking the Rod of the Depths due to its great stats and 5x price increasing Heavenly mutation passive and 225% Luck stat.

The only real downside to the Heaven’s Rod is the relatively low Lure Speed when compared to others in the late-game.

What’s the best enchant for the Heaven’s Rod?

Most agree that Hasty is one of the better enchants for the Heaven’s Rod.

Paired with speed-increasing baits, the Heaven’s Rod can match the near-instant speeds of other rods in its class. Again, paired with its mutation passive and high luck, it’ll make reeling in a fortune faster than ever before.

If you don’t mind the slower speed, though, Abyssal is still a great bet. Wormhole can tie in well with its high luck to make completing the harder Bestiary entries a breeze, too.
