If you’ve gotten into GO FISHING Roblox, then you may be wondering how you can get your hands… hooks… on the rarer fish in the game. In this guide, we’ll tell you a bunch of tips that should hopefully help you capture the more elusive fish of GO FISHING.
How rare fish work in GO FISHING?
Currently, there are seven islands in GO FISHING, and each one has two rare fish. Just like all fish in the game, rare ones have their own chance of being caught. You may get extremely lucky and capture one during your first reel, or you may end up fishing for hours. Unfortunately, that’s just how the game works.
You’ll need the best rod, the right skills, maybe some bait, and lots of patience.
All rare fish in GO FISHING
Here’s a list of all the rare fish in GO FISHING
Rare fish name | Location | Odds |
Sniper Eel | Default Isle | 1 in 258 |
Blobfish | Default Isle | 1 in 512 |
Whale | Vulcano Isle | 1 in 6,50K |
Monster Fish | Vulcano Isle | 1 in 22,50K |
Blob | Snowy Biome | 1 in 100,00K |
Loch Ness | Snowy Biome | 1 in 250,00K |
Bloneus | Deep Waters | 1 in 950,00K |
El Gran Maja | Deep Waters | 1 in 1.35M |
Mutated Gran Maja | Ancient Ocean | 1 in 3,00M |
White Eater | Ancient Ocean | 1 in 5,00M |
Teeth Monster | High Field | 1 in 2,50M |
Godzilla | High Field | 1 in 5,50M |
Toxic Gran Maja | Toxic Zone | 1 in 15,00M |
Mouth Monster | Toxic Zone | 1 in 30,00M |
Now, some of these odds may look a bit ridiculous, but keep in mind: you always manage to hook in a fish, no matter where you are, and on the final island (Toxic Zone), the odds of capturing the most common fish is 1 in 50,00K; so, really, don’t let those numbers scare you.
You’ll know you’ve captured a fish when you see a cool cutscene of you capturing a large fish.
What do you need to capture a rare fish?
Here’s the thing:
Even if you manage to hook one of the rare fish, you still won’t be able to reel it if your skill isn’t high enough.
So start working on building your GO FISHING skills. You can refer to our Ultimate GO FISHING Roblox Beginner’s Guide, but essentially, level up until you are comfortable enough to capture fish on all islands and until you have the best rod money can buy (oh, and you don’t actually have to spend any real money for this to work unless you want to support the developers).
The most important skill when it comes to hooking a rare fish is Luck. The more Luck you have, the bigger your chance of hooking a rare fish, but remember, if your skill isn’t high enough, it will just escape.
We also recommend you get some bait and potions if you can, but that’s entirely up to you. Personally, we didn’t have a lot of luck with bait, but many other players have, so the choice is entirely up to you.
When is the best time to start looking for rare fish?
You should start fishing for rare fish when you can comfortably fish in the Toxic Zone and you have the best rod in the game (the Light Saber Rod). Until you get to this point, simply level up as you normally would while going from one island to the next, and don’t sweat about the rare fish just yet. Don’t forget to prioritize leveling up your Fishing Speed and Strength over Luck until you can catch fish without issues.
Once you have the best rod money can buy, you can start buying Luck Potions and Lures. We recommend buying a bunch before you actually start capturing fish.
Only after you have all the equipment can you start going through all the islands and invest all your future skill points into luck. Most of all, have patience. GO FISHING is a game of patience.
