Hot Wheels Unleashed is free today on Epic Games Store and today only

This week, tons of families all around the world gathered together to exchange gifts, eat large dinners, and subsequently pass out into blissful food-induced slumber. Christmas might be over, but Epic Games Store still has one more gift to give you: A copy of the racing game Hot Wheels Unleashed available to download for free today and today only.

In case you may not know or remember, Hot Wheels Unleashed is a third-person racing game based on Mattel’s line of collectible toy cars. The game, by Italian developer Milestone, was released in 2021. Previously known for their detail-heavy motorsports sims like the MotoGP and Ride series, Milestone shocked players and critics alike with a toy car racing sim that combined the fanciful track designs and stylish car designs of the Hot Wheels brand with the adrenaline-pumping twitch gameplay of their previous titles.

Polygon’s reviewer recommended the game when it was first released. Its time-sensitive availability on the Epic Games Store is as perfect an opportunity to re-up that cosign as any.
