Atmospheric maze adventure game dated.

Atmospheric maze adventure game Go North will launch for Xbox Series and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on July 28, followed by Switch at a later date, developer gazuntype announced. A demo is available now for PC.

“There is a certain sense of serenity that comes from a good walk,” said gazuntype solo developer Tade Ajiboye in a press release. “With so much uncertainty in the real world, I wanted the calmness Go North exudes to be embedded into the core gameplay loop. As finding the exit due north is the only duty Dara has, I hope players feel the freedom to take their time, look around, and sit in the stillness of patience without penalties to find peace of mind. Today’s demo provides a glimpse, but the full launch has some magical surprises left in store.”

Here is an overview of the game, via gazuntype:

Direct Dara through twisted thickets of forests, bookshelf corridors, sky islands and more in four brand new levels debuting with today’s demo alongside never before seen puzzles and sidequests, including the newly introduced Camera mechanic. Glimpse into the magic of the full game’s world with an all-new opening cinematic and prepare to meet the Maze God face to face… if you can find him.

Discover the Maze God’s whereabouts by finding the exit to a series of immersive labyrinths designed by one-man developer Tade Ajiboye, highlighting West Africa’s award-winning contributions to interactive media worldwide. Through tranquil representations of being lost, feeling adrift, and lacking direction, Go North provides players a chance to tackle calm calamities and reconnect with a slower pace of life.

Find ancient relics weaving magic with technology, like the moth-shaped Lunaboard or levitating bubble to get a bird’s eye view, to help Dara navigate through each world. Locate secret Golden Compasses to find unlockables, and customize Dara with cosmetics like hats, scarves, and more to personalize every journey in meaningfully quaint ways.
