FFXIV: Moogle Treasure Trove: The Hunt for Phantasmagoria marks the countdown to patch 7.2 from February 26

In the ever-changing event calendar of Final Fantasy XIV, there’s always something new to look forward to. With Valentione’s Day behind us, a new event on the horizon will begin the countdown to Patch 7.2.

The Moogle Treasure Trove is a recurring event in FFXIV that provides players a new way to get their hands on old, sought-after items. By completing objectives and challenges, players can stock up on Irregular Tomestones and then exchange them with the Itinerant Moogle in any of the three major city-states for a selection of goodies.

The next Moogle Treasure Trove event is The Hunt for Phantasmagoria, which will allow players to grab some very worthwhile rewards, including the following stand-out stars (all shown in the image above):

  • Modern Aesthetics: Form and Function
    • Usually obtained from Silver and Gold Happy Bunny Boxes in Eureka
  • Interno Jacket
    • Previously appeared just once as a reward in a past Moogle Treasure Trove event
  • Ballroom Etiquette – The Winsome Wallflower
    • Can be used to obtain the ‘/lean’ emote, regularly obtained using Skybuilders Scrips

Of course, there are other rewards, including gear pieces (this time around, the focus is on Skallic pieces, which usually drop from The Drowned City of Skalla), minions, mounts, Triple Triad Cards, and Orchestrion Rolls.

What’s most interesting about Moogle Treasure Trove events is their timing. These events are always instated to rectify the content lull before a new patch. With patch 7.2 on the horizon, along with everything that it will bring, the beginning of The Hunt for Phantasmagoria will begin the countdown to the new patch.

There is no fixed time for when this event will end, and the length of previous Moogle Treasure Trove events has always varied. However, it’s expected that this event could last up to four weeks, which means that we could likely expect patch 7.2 to arrive at the end of March.
