And just like that, it’s 2025! Wait, what? Wasn’t it, like, 2009 a couple of weeks ago? Where does the time go, eh?

Firstly, on this newest of new years we’d like to wish you and your loved ones a prosperous 2025 and beyond. It feels like we’re replaying an old record, but we indeed live in ever-changing times, so above all we hope that you’re able to stay safe and healthy.

As you’ll no doubt be aware, it was a difficult 2024 for the video games industry. In addition to thousands upon thousands of layoffs, we also witnessed studio closures and more. Even the media side hasn’t been safe, with many of our colleagues let go and some of our personal favourite sites closed down.

Fortunately, we’re still here, and we owe that to your support. Thank you for believing in us, and remember you’re always contributing to our work by commenting, clicking, and sharing. This year, we want to start moving forwards again. We want to:

• Bring you the best of PlayStation with insight and analysis. We want to be thorough with our reporting but also keep it light-hearted and fun; we know for many of you gaming is escapism from your daily grind, so while we will undoubtedly need to touch on sensitive topics at times, we never want to forget why we’re all here: through a mutual love for gaming.
• Engage you with more community content than ever before. We believe we have one of the best gaming communities online, and we want to embrace that by giving you more of a platform to share your opinions. That means more polls, quizzes, and opportunities to interact with the website.
• Answer all your PlayStation questions. Sometimes we forget not everyone is an expert on Sony, and so we want to do better at detailing everything you need to know. This could be through explainer articles which describe exactly what’s going on in the industry and why, or with guides that tell you how to find a certain collectible or unlock a particular weapon. We’ve been honing our skills at this for years now, and we want to put into practice everything we’ve learned to create easily digestible FAQs for you.

Between the likes of GTA 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Ghost of Yotei, we think this is going to be a massive year for PS5.
