The most sumptuous versions of works published by J.R.R. Tolkien are currently discounted for Black Friday, with some editions on sale for as much as 55% off. Even if you never intend to read them, any of these tomes would look great on your shelf. The illustrated versions of The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and The Silmarillion all feature illustrated edges and a generous collection of color illustrations, sketches, and maps produced by the author. Deluxe illustrated versions with quarter-bound cloth covers, gilded edges, and additional collectibles are also available. However, if you’d prefer some more modest versions of these texts, you can also find a pocket-sized box set on sale for $32.49 (was $49.99), or a standard, non-illustrated hardcover box set for $72.63 (was $105).

And if you’re here looking for deals on Peter Jackson’s seminal film adaptation, The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy 4K Blu-ray is currently on sale for $54.99 (was $89.99) and features both the extended and theatrical cuts. Year of the Ring, Polygon’s own book exploring the Lord of the Rings books and movies, is also discounted to $33 (was $45).
