EA FC 25 TOTY promo team predictions

1 day ago 42

Less than a couple of weeks are left for the TOTY promo to go live in EA FC 25, and it will be one of the most exciting times to play Ultimate Team.

Team of the Year is one of the biggest promos in Ultimate Team history, and it features some of the best cards you can potentially find inside the game. The promo will be featuring special cards of footballers, which are determined partly by votes.

The nominees are yet to be revealed by EA Sports but the following lineup could well be the final starting eleven of the promo.

Typically, EA Sports releases a team of 11 special cards, with one more added as the 12th player. If the developers follow the same pattern as last year, there will be two teams: one from men’s football and the other from women’s.

Here is my prediction about what the men’s team could look like come January 19 (when the complete list of starting eleven will be officially available).

  • Emiliano Martinez (GK)
  • Grimaldo (LB)/Theo Hernandez (LB)
  • Virgil Van Dijk (CB)
  • William Saliba (CB)/Gabriel Megalhaes (CB)
  • Frimpong (RB)
  • Jude Bellingham (CM)
  • Rodri (CM)
  • Cole Palmer (CM)
  • Vinicius Jr. (LW)
  • Kylian Mbappe (ST)
  • Mohamed Salah (RW)

Typically, EA Sports has gone for 433 formations for the TOTY during the last few years. I don’t expect that to change, and my lineup is pretty solid when it comes to performances. A few debates can be made for the LB position. I have gone for Grimaldo and Theo, but Inter’s Dimarco is another justifiable shout as well.

Both Gabriel and Saliba have been among the most reliable defenders over the last year, but I doubt both of them will get a place in the starter. Virgil Van Dijk has been enormous for Liverpool, especially in the second half of the year. Frimpong remains one of the best-performing RBs, even if his performances have faded slightly.

Rodri may have missed the last few months of actions, but 2024 was incredible for him. If performing well for Manchester City wasn’t enough, the Spaniard commanded the entire midfield during Spain’s golden run in the Euros. It could be a debut TOTY appearance for Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, who has been a wonderful performer in the league for the Blues.

There can be absolutely no debate about Vinicius and Mohamed Salah, but Mbappe hasn’t been consistent for Real Madrid. However, EA Sports loves to include him in big promos, and I can see him getting the spot for center-forward in the lineup.
