Cygames trademarks Lost Order, nine years after end of closed beta test

Cygames recently filed trademarks for Lost Order, its 2016-announced real-time tactics game co-developed by PlatinumGames.

The European trademark was filed on April 15, while the United States trademark was filed on April 30.

The last update on the game’s development was the end of a closed beta test held in August 2017.

The lack of new information has fueled speculation that the game may have been canceled, but the newly filed trademark could indicate that development is ongoing.

Update 1:40 p.m.: In the Q&A for the fiscal year ended September 2024, Cygames parent company CyberAgent said development on Lost Order was put on hold, only to later issue a correction and apology stating that the game was, in fact, still in development. (Thanks, @Akiha281095.)
