Another BitLife scavenger hunt is here as part of the world’s annual Lunar New Year celebrations. During the 2025 Lunar New Year scavenger hunt, you’ll collect ten paper lanterns by completing day-to-day tasks with your characters, with the last task giving you a special cosmetic item.

BitLife Lunar New Year 2025 scavenger hunt guide

The 2025 edition of BitLife’s Lunar New Year scavenger hunt has 10 objectives for various paper lantern colors. While you have slight hints to help guide you and optional ads to reveal more information, this is still a challenging hunt compared to previous versions. Below is a list of every paper lantern and their respective task:

Although most of these objectives are simple activities you can complete in an average BitLife playthrough, others require careful planning. Here’s how to finish each riddle.

Aqua Paper Lantern

Of these ten objectives, the Aqua Paper Lantern is one of the easiest, as it requires one of your BitLife characters to have a baby. To do this, head into Activities, Love and find a romantic partner or a one-time hookup. It doesn’t matter if your character is male or female as long as they can have a child. Go through the process, confirm the pregnancy, and age up to have a baby for the Aqua Paper Lantern. Using the Golden Pacifier makes this much easier, but it isn’t required to finish the scavenger hunt.

Black Paper Lantern

Next on the list is visiting the gym for the Black Paper Lantern. You can quickly finish this task with a teenage or adult BitLife character by heading into Activities, Mind and Body, and Gym. If your character is over 18, they’ll have to pay a $20 in-game fee for the trip. Otherwise, hitting the gym will complete the objective, bringing you one step closer to finishing the Lunar New Year scavenger hunt.

Blue Paper Lantern

Here’s another quick and easy one for you to complete. To obtain the Blue Paper Lantern, head back into Activities and Mind and Body before tapping on Book. It doesn’t matter which book you read or its length, as long as you go from start to finish without abandoning it. It also doesn’t count if you watch the movie instead. Completing this task will grant you the lantern while giving you the fulfilment of knowing you read a book today.

Green Paper Lantern

Changing your diet in BitLife can have numerous positive and negative repercussions, depending on which one you choose. In this case, they let you acquire the Green Paper Lantern. Like before, you’ll enter the Mind and Body menu before navigating to Diet and picking any of the listed options. Doing this gives you your next lantern and potentially leads to your character developing a new healthy lifestyle.

Orange Paper Lantern

Are you still in the Mind and Body menu? Here, you’ll find Martial Arts and a list of various fighting styles. Pick any martial art and either get permission from your character’s parents or pay the in-game fee to take a lesson and obtain the Orange Paper Lantern. You’re now halfway through the 2025 Lunar New Year scavenger hunt.

Pink Paper Lantern

Getting married during the BitLife Lunar New Year event

The Pink Paper Lantern is next, symbolizing romance during this Lunar New Year event. Your first goal is to head back into the Love menu, start dating someone, and raise your relationship with them for a few years. As you and your romantic partner reach high stats, you’ll need to buy a wedding ring through the Shopping menu and propose. Generally speaking, your odds of success are higher if it’s an expensive ring.

Whether you go on a honeymoon or sign a prenup is entirely up to you. The person’s job, social status, and money also don’t matter; you can marry royalty or a commoner, depending on how far you want to push this challenge. Once you get married, you’ll receive the next lantern, knocking out another task and preparing you for another easy one.

Purple Paper Lantern

Throughout your BitLife characters’ lives, you’ll make friends you can talk to, spend time with, and give gifts to. For the Purple Paper Lantern, you’ll need to attend a concert with a friend, which you can do by heading into Relationships, selecting your friend, and scrolling down until you see Concert.

Red Paper Lantern

The Red Paper Lantern is by far the most difficult one to obtain during this scavenger hunt, as it requires your BitLife character to kill an NPC or someone they know. Targeting a random person is the easiest way to finish this.

To complete the task, head into Activities, Crime, and Murder. Pick whichever victim and method you wish and hope you don’t get caught. Using drive-by or poison makes this easier, but you may have to resort to direct methods like impaling or clubbing. They may also retaliate, so only do this with characters you don’t mind losing.

White Paper Lantern

Fortunately, we’re back to the easy objectives with the White Paper Lantern. For this lantern, you need to pray to the BitLife devs, which you can do by pressing the “Pray” button that occasionally appears on your main menu screen. You’ll watch a brief ad and obtain a wish, which can include perks like more money, good health, or higher odds of having children, depending on your choice. More importantly, you’ll get the White Paper Lantern, bringing you near the end of this scavenger hunt.

Yellow Paper Lantern

Last but not least is adopting a pet for the Yellow Paper Lantern. You can finish this final objective by heading into Activities, Pets, and any of the shop options. I picked the Animal Shelter, but your choice is up to you. Adopting a pet will give you an adorable new addition to your family and the Yellow Paper Lantern, wrapping up BitLife’s 2025 Lunar New Year scavenger hunt.
