Get Nintendo's lawyers on the phone

Last week, God of War Ragnarok was released on PC, and predictably, players on Steam lamented Sony's PSN mandate, promptly resorting to review bombing the game. Swiftly, a mod was created to get around this pesky requirement, and just as swiftly, its author pulled it from the internet, fearful of Sony's legal wrath.
The since-deleted PSN bypass mod was so popular on NexusMods that the admins actually reached out to the creator to confirm the reason for its removal (thanks, VGC). Apparently, the author chose to remove the modification because it "got too much attention (even IGN and PC Gamer wrote an article about it), thus I thought that it would be better to remove it" to avoid any "potential threats from the Sony side."
We want to point out that Push Square also wrote about it and could be considered a prominent news outlet (in the right light), but that's neither here nor there. It would be quite interesting if Sony took an interest in the development because, as far as we're aware, the wonderful world of PC modding is uncharted territory for the firm. Still, with Nintendo preparing to introduce the Palworld devs to a world of legal hurt, perhaps it's wise not to mess around with these platform holders.
