Assassin’s Creed Shadows Game Length Is Comparable To That Of Origins/Odyssey, Says Creative Director

The creative director on Assassin’s Creed Shadows has revealed that the main story is comparable in length to the campaigns from Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. This puts it in the region of 30 – 60 hours depending on how much players want to see and do.

Speaking during a Reddit AMA earlier this week, Jonathan Dumont was asked how long the game is compared to the past few games, including Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. The latter of course is a sprawling open-world RPG and probably the longest game in the series to date, with players easily able to put in over 100 hours if they want to see everything .

The length of the game is always hard to evaluate in an open world game as different players will have very different ways to consume the content. I think Shadows’ main journey is comparable to Origins/Odyssey and Valhalla.

Speaking in the same Reddit AMA, the team revealed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will feature a canon mode that offers a ‘choice-free narrative,’ and confirmed that the game will have a single canon ending.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is scheduled for release on February 14, 2025 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
