Following issues with its PS5 Pro update for Alan Wake 2, Remedy Entertainment has released a new update, offering some changes and additional options. These include a new Balanced mode for 120Hz displays. It includes Performance mode’s resolution and PS5 Pro Quality mode’s settings while targeting 40 FPS.
The update also “slightly” adjusts Performance mode settings to provide a “more consistent” frame rate and the ray tracing settings in Quality and Balanced modes to ensure less noise. Perhaps most notable is the option to turn off PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution. This follows Bloober Team reportedly replacing the latter in Silent Hill 2 remake with Temporal Super Resolution for the console’s Performance Mode.
Massive Entertainment also recently provided an option to disable PSSR in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora following issues. Check out the full patch notes for the update below (which includes fixes for The Lake House).
Alan Wake 2 is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out our review of the base game. You can also check out our thoughts on its story DLC, Night Springs and The Lake House.
