The overnight hit makes a comeback

- Special Amazon Prime version
It's not every day you get to see a mobile game stand the test of time, but Gabriele Cirulli's 2048 is proof that anything's possible even in such a saturated market. The beloved puzzler is celebrating a whopping ten years in the biz - an impressive feat for a game that was crafted by a then-19-year-old developer.
Dubbed fondly as the “Candy Crush for math geeks”, 2048 is now raising the stakes with its 10th anniversary by adding new power-ups and revamped visuals. This redesign also comes with a new "2048 Plus" version for Amazon Prime.
In case you're not familiar with the title, the overnight sensation simply tasks you with swiping to slide tiles across a board with the ultimate goal of reaching the 2048 tile. It's been adapted into various shapes and forms through the years thanks to its open-source design. With the revamp, you can now Undo mistakes, use the "Swap Two Tiles" mechanic to spice up the gameplay, or even "Delete Tiles by Number" to clear tiles.
"After discovering and getting addicted to puzzle games similar to 2048, I was intrigued. However, the aesthetic of the existing versions didn't quite appeal to me, so I decided to make my own version of the game with no intention of profiting from it. You can imagine my surprise when 2048 rose to the top of Hacker News and even more so when the interest not only stayed but grew into a viral phenomenon," says Gabriele Cirulli.

In the meantime, if you're eager to join in on all the fun, you can do so by checking it out on Google Play and the App Store. It's a free-to-play title with in-app purchases. You can also visit the official website for more info.
