007 First Light Debuts to 1.5 Million Sales in Just 24 Hours

007 First Light sold 1.5 million copies in its first 24 hours on the market, developer IO Interactive has announced.

In a social media post, the developer thanked those who bought the game for showing up, as well as their enthusiasm and for sharing their experiences so far. "1.5 million copies sold! Thank you for showing up to the launch of 007 First Light, for your overwhelming enthusiasm and for sharing your experience with the game."

The first sales update comes after it was speculated that initial sales of 007 First Light weren't doing all that well; one industry face compared the sales to those of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle rather than Uncharted.

It's impossible to know what IO Interactive's sales projections were for its opening days on the market, but 1.5 million purchases seems like a good start to me — it's surely at least decent, right?
